Beira Mar Brasil, the headlining band for the annual Carnaval Brasileiro of the Twin Cities will be hosting its 5th Annual Festa de São João at the Frank Rog Amphitheater, 2540 Lexington Ave N., Roseville, Minnesota on Sunday, June 17, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. through 8:00 p.m. The event will feature a special repertoire of Northeastern Brazilian music and an appearance from Omulu Capoeira.

São João is one of the largest festivals in the semi-arid regions of Northeastern Brazil, where the celebration coincides with the Feast of St. John the Baptist, which marks the end of the rainy season. It is an opportunity to give thanks for the rain and has a distinctly rural flavor, and is celebrated with bonfires, dancing, and traditional outfits.
